SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15
Last Chance Café: The Secret Life of a Goldenrod Field
2:00–3:30 PM
Mike Weilbacher, Naturalist and Author of Wild Philly
Goldenrod fields—the wrongful villains in thousands of allergy-relief commercials—are a critically important ecosystem for millions of butterflies, bugs, and birds, offering a last chance for life-saving pollen and nectar before the long winter sets in.
In a combination of indoor talk and outdoor walk, discover the wonderful life histories of the many insect and plant species found in goldenrod fields. You’ll gain a deep appreciation for this critical ecosystem and be inspired to plant goldenrod and other native plants in your own yard.
Members: $25 | Non-Members: $35
