Landscape Design Workshop: Get to Know Your Property
A two-day class: Friday, Sept. 24, 6:00 – 8:00 pm,
and Saturday, Sept. 25, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Presented by Jennifer Pennington, Landscape Architect, Robinson Anderson Summers, Inc
Understanding site conditions is essential to planning and planting a successful landscape. Landscape architect, Jennifer Pennington will discuss principles of ecological landscape management and design, as well as some common horticultural pitfalls related to site conditions such as poor drainage, sun and wind exposure, and invasive weed sources. On Friday, learn how to evaluate the varied conditions of your property and complete a site analysis plan. After gaining a greater appreciation for the inherent strengths and weaknesses of your site, explore how to translate your site analysis into a workable landscape plan. On Saturday, participants will select a small focus area and begin crafting a plant list and plan for long term garden success.
Participants will be given a class materials list after registration.
