Hamilton Fellow Lecture Series: An Introduction to Mushrooms and Fungi

Thursday, December 3 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm

Presented by Jake Summers, Hamilton Educational Fellow at Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens

Have you ever spotted a mushroom growing in your garden and wondered where it came from? Have you wondered what the difference is between a mushroom and a fungus? Join Hamilton Fellow Jake Summers as he explores the biology and culture of Fungi.

The Hamilton Fellow Lecture Series is a series of talks given by the current Hamilton Educational Fellows. This Fellowship provides an immersive educational experience in the unparalleled setting of Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens. Fellows will acquire specialized skills and practical knowledge that will benefit them in pursuit of a career in the fields of horticulture, botany, biology, or environmental resource management.

This lecture will be held virtually. A link and viewing instructions will be emailed after your registration is complete.

Support our programs! For the remainder of 2020 our lectures will be free, but as you register, please consider making an optional donation to help us expenses such as speaker fees, technology upgrades, or staff time to facilitate programs. Every donation helps us offer great programs to our community!

Why free? This has been a challenging year and offering flexible pricing for programs is one way Jenkins can support the health and wellbeing of our community. We know that our programs can offer inspiration and rejuvenation, and don’t want cost to be a barrier to accessing great information on gardening and horticulture.
