THURSDAY, DECEMBER 18
Salt—A Winter Water Conundrum
7:00–8:30 PM
Kate Hutelmyer, Water Resources Planner, Chester County Water Resources Authority
When winter weather hits, deicers like road salt are typically the first line of defense for public safety. However, overuse and/or misuse of deicers can create major challenges for our freshwater systems when what’s applied on the land washes into local streams. Explore the impact of salt in the environment, and steps residents and communities can take to reduce those impacts.
A partner event with the Tredyffrin Township Environmental Advisory Council and Valley Forge Chapter of Trout Unlimited.
