A Story of a Storm: Flooding, Rain Gardens and Wildlife Habitat

April 5, 2023 @ 7:00 pm 8:30 pm EDT

The Lower Merion Conservancy is excited to partner with Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens to host a webinar featuring Jamie Anderson, our Watershed Specialist. Jamie will describe how the design of suburban neighborhoods exacerbates flooding and pollutes streams – which ultimately flow to drinking water sources. While many aspects of our built landscapes need to be changed to protect our waterways, there are meaningful actions we can take at home. The bulk of the webinar will focus on residential-scale green stormwater projects (rain gardens, depaving, lawn replacement) that benefit streams.

Jamie’s vast experience implementing residential and municipal green stormwater projects makes her uniquely qualified to talk about stream conservation. There will be plenty of time for Q&A at the end. If you have any interest in streams, rain gardens, or stormwater in general, come join us!
