MMX is a group of ten mixed media artists with diverse backgrounds. Their mission is to promote mixed media as a fine art form, as well as educate the public about the joys of creating.

From the artists:

“MMX artists invite you to Experience Beauty at Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens through this presentation of our art. Most of these works were completed in the past two years as we all endured the global pandemic, lock down, isolation, political turmoil, racial reckoning, and the existential challenges of climate change.

As artists, we ‘made things’ – collages, paintings, ceramics, quilts, mixed media explorations – to cope with these conditions. For some, the isolation and restrictions led to an explosion of creativity. For others, engaging in this work was more about keeping panic and despair at bay.

All of us were, and continue to be, inspired by the beauty of the natural world and the resilience of the human spirit.”
