Stroll the gardens and photograph what inspires you\, while learning various compositional and technical options on the spot. \nParticipants will need to bring a camera\, a fully charged battery\, and a camera card with space to shoot freely. A tripod is a helpful tool\, if you have one. Photographers with any kind of camera can benefit\, but DSLRs are recommended. \nMembers: $15; Non-Members: $20 \nRegistration required. \n \nPhoto Walks will take place on the following Third Saturdays:  \nJuly 17\, Aug 21\, Sept 18\, Oct 16\, Nov 20 and Dec 18.

DESCRIPTION:Discover two cemeteries that are also an arboretum and so much more!\n\n\nHorticultural Highlights of Laurel Hill & West Laurel Hill Cemeteries  \nThursday\, October 21\, 7:00 – 8:30pm \nPresented by Mackenzie Knight-Fochs\, Program Manager\, Friends of Laurel Hill & West Laurel Hill Cemeteries \n \nIncorporated in 1836 and 1869 respectively\, historic Laurel Hill and West Laurel Hill Cemeteries are non-profit\, non-denominational cemeteries that combine to create a 265-acre arboretum and outdoor sculpture garden rich in cultural and social history. The cemeteries continue to serve families in their time of tragedy and loss\, provide beautiful open space for outdoor respite and healthy activity\, and are anchor institutions in the community. Join Mackenzie Knight-Fochs for a virtual visit to explore horticultural highlights of these two cemeteries\, including a one-of-a-kind rock garden\, a SITES Gold landscape for green burials\, State Champion trees\, and the final resting places of notable horticulturists.  \n \nFree of charge; registration is required. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a two-day landscape photography class\n\n\nFall Landscape Photography\n \nA two-day class: Friday\, October 29\, 6:00 – 8:30 pm\, Saturday\, October 30\, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm\n \n(Rain dates: November 5 and 6)\n \nPresented by Laura Ducceschi\, Fine Art Photographer\n \n \nHave you been frustrated trying to photograph beautiful landscapes? Creating landscape images is a challenge! Skies are bright and the foreground relatively dark. Special strategies are needed to enable cameras to capture the wide range of tones that take our breath away when in an amazing landscape setting. The warm colors of autumnal foliage provide the perfect opportunity to learn and practice skills for creating beautiful photographs.\n \n \nAward-winning photographer Laura Ducceschi will illustrate some of the challenges and solutions to creating impactful landscape and outdoor photographs\, including equipment\, camera settings\, and composition.  Friday evening begins with indoor instruction\, preparing for shooting out in the gardens on Saturday morning. The class will wrap up with a chance to share images from the morning.\n \n \nParticipants need to bring their own camera with which they have some familiarity. Cameras with interchangeable lenses will have the features needed to take full advantage of the class. It is important to bring a fully charged battery and a camera card with space to shoot freely. A tripod is strongly recommended. Some activities are not applicable to point-and-shoot cameras.\n \n \nMembers: $60; Non-Members: $70\n \nRegistration required.
