DESCRIPTION:Mindful Yoga  \nMondays\, January 13 – March 2 from 6:00 – 7:15 pm  \nPresented by Janet Muti\, Instructor at YogaLife Institute \nEnjoy this unique setting\, looking out the wall of windows into the Arboretum as we practice Mindful Hatha Yoga. Our practice will consist of gentle stretching and strengthening exercises done slowly with moment to moment awareness of breath and sensations that arise as we move from pose to pose. A variety of healthy living topics will be discussed to further benefit mind-body health. All levels are invited to join. \n$96 (each 6-week course) for members; $136 (each 6-week course) for non- members.  \n$20 per drop-in session. DESCRIPTION:This two-day photography workshop will give you the skills you need to photography beautiful landscapes in winter.\n\n\n\nWinter Landscape Photography \nA two-day class: Friday\, Feb. 7 from 6:00 – 8:30 pm & Saturday\, Feb. 8 from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm \n(Snow dates: February 21 & 22) \nPresented by Laura Ducceschi\, Fine Art Photographer \nHave you been frustrated by trying to photograph beautiful landscapes? Creating landscape images is a challenge because what we see in person is often difficult for our cameras to capture. The lighting is out of our control and balancing the brightness of the sky with the darker foreground can be a problem. However\, in winter the soft\, earthy colors can create beautiful studies of form and structure. Award-winning photographer Laura Ducceschi will illustrate some of the challenges and solutions to creating landscape and outdoor photographs\, including equipment\, camera settings\, and composition. \nFriday evening begins with indoor instruction\, preparing for shooting out in the gardens on Saturday morning. The class will wrap up with time to share images from the morning. \nParticipants will need to bring a camera\, ideally one with interchangeable lenses\, a fully charged battery\, and a camera card with space to shoot freely. A tripod is strongly recommended. Some activities are not applicable to point-and-shoot cameras. \n$50 for members; $60 for non-members. Registration required.

DESCRIPTION:Explore the 20-year development of Andrew Bunting’s garden\, Belvidere\, located in Swarthmore\, Pennsylvania.\n\n\n\nBelvidere: Evolution of A Plantsman’s Garden \nTuesday\, February 18 from 1:00 – 2:30 pm \nPresented by Andrew Bunting\, Vice President of Public Horticulture at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society \nAndrew Bunting will explore the 20-year development of his garden in Swarthmore\, Pennsylvania. For the first 15 years of the development of the garden Andrew was Curator at the Scott Arboretum of Swarthmore College. Many parts of the garden reflect his passion for collecting unusual plants. This presentation will also cover the design process he used to create many garden spaces which today include a patio for growing tropicals in pots\, a summer house converted from a detached garage\, and a 4\,000-square foot vegetable garden that he co-manages with his neighbor. Join us for this personal journey through the trial\, tribulations\, and success of creating a home garden. \nFree for members of Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens and/or Woodlea Garden Club. $5 for non-members.
