DESCRIPTION:The outdoor nursery at The Garden Shop at Jenkins reopens for the season on Friday\, April 21! With over 300 plants to choose from\, including evergreen azaleas\, deciduous azaleas\, small trees\, shrubs\, houseplants\, and numerous perennials for both shade and sun\, The Garden Shop has something for everyone. Information cards will be on display for each plant providing a wealth of information such as site requirements\, deer resistance\, wildlife value\, growth habit\, and pictures in different seasons. Several of our offerings are uncommon\, unusual\, or even rare or endangered. The majority of the plants we offer for sale are propagated on-site at Jenkins.

DESCRIPTION:Join with us for a day of volunteering in memory of Griffin Lang. Volunteers from the community will work together in the Conservation Woodlands tract of Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens to pull an invasive plant called garlic mustard. This volunteer day is part of an ongoing project to restore the Conservation Woodlands portion of the Arboretum\, with the goal of eventually opening it to the public. After a morning of work\, we will take time to enjoy snacks and coffee while taking time to share stories and remember Griffin and his love for the natural world.  \n\n\n\nAll tools and materials will be provided. No experience necessary; all are welcome. This event will be held entirely outdoors. \n\n\n\nClick here to sign up.

DESCRIPTION:Visit Jenkins to see iris blooms grown by members of the Delaware Valley Iris Society. Members will be on hand to answer your iris questions and to discuss growing and showing irises. This show will be held in the John J. Willaman Education Center at Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens.Horticulture Division –Any gardener with an iris they know the correct name for can enter it in the show between 7:30 – 9:30 AM. Artistic Arrangement Division – Anyone can enter a floral arrangement with the only requirement that it contain an iris. For this division there is no requirement to know the name of the iris and no need to have grown the iris yourself.Iris Culture Demonstration – 1 PMLearn how to divide clumps of bearded and beardless types of irises. Participants will see how to prepare the divisions for garden planting and for potting. You will even get to pot up and take home some irises. Bring your iris questions! \n\n\n\nThe Iris Show and demo are open to all; free of charge.
