CAN O' KOI

My watering can design was inspired by my daily work as a muralist and decorative painter. I love trompe l'oeil (French for "trick the eye") and thought it would be whimsical to have "windows" allowing you to see through the can to the other side with Japanese Koi fish swimming inside. The surrounding color was sponged on to create a more interesting texture than painting it one single color. I chose blue and purple to compliment the cool greens of the outdoor surroundings in which the can would be placed. It really makes the warm colored fish "pop". I'm very happy with the outcome!
